Hey everyone!
I have absoulutely no idea what I'm going to blog about right now. So prepare for some babbling on and on.
For starters, Happy Halloween!! BOO! Guess what I'm being for halloween, a dark angel! It's going to be awesome! I have this black and gold mask and these black feather wings and a black t-shirt and shoes. I didn't really feel like getting a big expensive costume because my brother got one and it was about $50! Talk about crazy right? Plus you're only going to wear it once so why spend so much money on one night? The whole idea confuses me. What also confuses me is Haunted Houses. There's this one haunted house by me that everyone goes to almost every single weekend. My question is, who really wants to pay to be scared. Honestly, I don't understand it at all. Why would you want to waste $12 on an hour of being scared out of your mind? All that blood and gore just creeps me out! There is absolutely no way that I am going anywhere near that house, nor am I going anywhere near the haunted hayride either. Just another way to waste money on freaky stuff. I am deathly afraid of those halloween clowns. Those guys are terrifying! I don't really mind the circus ones because hey, they're kind of fun. But it's the ones that are covered in blood with creepy smiles on their faces. Don't get me wrong I love the joker! Batman is one of my favorite superheros!(even though technically he's not a super hero, just a strong guy with millions of cool gadgets) What are you guys wearing for halloween? Are you going to a haunted house? You definately won't be seeing me there any time soon. Perhaps when there's a huge crowd big enough where I can be circled around without having to worry about getting creeped out. Or I could know everyone dressed up in those crazy costumes. At least they can't touch you at those haunted houses, that's the only thing that makes it a little bit ok. But running around with a mask and a chainsaw? Really?

State Finals: Judge troubles
Hey everyone!
So yesterday was State finals and there's a lot to say. The Lake Central T.O.P got 8th place. Why? Because of a penalty. The Judges did not have their act together and one judge let us start the show while another said we started too early. That, and for normal marching band shows the show doesn't start until the flags come up for the first time. So they started the clock way to early and we got another penalty for having our show be too long. All I hope is that on Monday this is all fixed and we get what we deserve which, without the penalties, we actually got 4th place. That would've made LC History right there! Let's just hope that next weekend there won't be as much trouble.
Sincerely,
Tinkerbell
P.S. I know this really short compared to all my other blog posts. I just didn't have much to say

Descriptive Narrative?
Hey everyone!
So for class today I have to write a decriptive narrative about my most exciting moment. Here it goes!
As the music started to play my nerves increased. I fixed my large gray hat with millions of shiny black feathers and fake pink roses along with my black leather gloves, smiled at the people passing us, and said good luck to all my friends as they showed me nervous looks. And as the seconds flew by our time had come. The colorguard and I raced into the field, holding the edges of our long gray dresses with lace in little splits on the ends. The crowd cheered and we performed. Ending the show with thousands of claps and shouts and cheers, along with a standing ovation. We had done it again. The Lake Central Tribe of Pride had wowed the crowd.
The moon turned brighter by the second as hundreds of people started to crowd around the semi truck. It's been only a matter minutes since the Lake Central Tribe of Pride was called as the very last band to go on to State Finals. Everyone was smiling and a pickup truck near by was handing out cookies for everyone. The whole crowd was chatting and eating popcorn and cookies when Mr. Harmon, the band director, stood up in the back of the semi truck wearing his usual hat, sunglasses, and orange windbreaker. "Congradulations," He said, "This, ladies and gentleman, is the 6th time in a row that we've gone to State!"
The group cheered and clapped, shouting into the wind. Other bands passed by and stared. Mr. Harmon tried to silence the band and continued.
"For the next three performances, it'll be 72 and sunny!" He yelled smiling. Again the crowd cheered as Mr. Harmon explained how great the performance was. At that exact moment, I completely forgot that it was freezing, or that we had a super long bus ride home. We were going to state finals! That's all that mattered! I was so incredibly excited that I bounced and cheered along with the rest of the band and colorguard. All my friends huddled together to keep warm and talk about the show. It was, in my opinion, the most exciting moment of the entire year.

Money, fast years, and AP classes
Hey everyone!
So today my class went to figure out our "Four year plan" for high school. Now, of course, I'm terrified of how fast that these years will go! It's already the 24th of October! Talk about fast right? Not to mention it being already the end of the first grading period. High school is suppose to be the best times of your life right? Well, I signed up for a million AP and Honors classes. So I have no idea how this is going to turn out. Especially since last year the only advanced class I took was advanced art. (I'm really good at drawing) I'm already in English 9 Honors and it's already pretty crazy. They don't help you very much in class with papers. You're expected to get a pass to go to them after/before school to talk to them about how to write a paper or confusing grammar things like gerunds and the millions of different phrases there are. However, what I want to do is to become a Marine Biologist which brings me to my next subject. Holy cow the marine biology trip is $2,233! That is way too much money. Which makes me incredibly sad because I really wanted to go to Florida and study the sharks there. Maybe when I'm old enough to get a job I'll keep every single paycheck and hopefully by senior year I'll be able to go! Another problem with that theory is the person that takes us on the trip only chooses a few people. So I need to figure out how to stand out in the crowd of hundreds! But anyways by senior year I planned to take 2 AP classes! Tell me if I'm crazy or not. AP Biology and AP English I'm fairly good at both those subjects, considering I became an author in 3rd grade and have been writing novels ever since AP English should be easy for me. Another consideration is that I'm getting basically all A's in Biology right now! I'm incredibly excited for that. Okay... I just realize how incredibly randomized this entire blog is. I guess it's human to go off topic and then back on topic a lot. So hopefully this is okay!

Waking up early on a Saturday
Hey everyone!
So on regular school days, I wake up at 5:30. However, it's a Saturday and I'm waking up at the exact same time! It's horrible! Why am I waking up so early you might ask? It's a competition day! Yup, the LC T.O.P is going to Ben-Davis in Indianapolis! I'm excited, scared, and bored. Bored because I'll be stuck in a tightly packed bus full of 42 guard girls for more than 2 hours. Not fun. But I'm excited because it's going to be the last ever outside competition! All the rest after today are at Lucas Oil Stadium! Yes, Lucas Oil! Home of the Colts! It's amazing. Oh I almost forgot! Check out the guard page because I just posted 2 videos of our show! Just remember though, it's an old competition and we have a whole different costume for parts of it and a different flag instead of that bright blue one. And if you hear "WE ARE! LC! TRIBE OF! PRIDE!" that's what I love to call our "welcome committee." They wave goodbye to us at the high school parking lot and then they follow our buses (all 6 of them!) to the competition where they shout that. It always gives me chills seeing the posters and the shouts and cheers. Which is why I love it all so much! Anyways wish me and all the guard good luck! The weather is supposed to be really nice! But really cold! Yikes!
Sincerely,
Tinkerbell

Having fun with blog designs
Hey everyone!
So if you've been paying attention to my blog lately you'd realize that I've been changing the design of it a bunch. For example my last post it was green with a bunch of Tinkerbell all over the place! I decided to tone down the Tink a little bit. As you can see by my new background and header (as done by shabbyblogs.com) Hopefully from now on it won't change as much. However, there are the little things that I still haven't exactly figured out. Like how the links to my old blog posts are in an ineligible color.I'll fix it eventually. But I like how it looks right now! Comment and tell me how you think it looks too. By the way, the weather from yesterday hasn't improved much, in fact it's raining as I'm typing this right now! But the weather for Saturday is suppose to be perfect! A little cold but no rain and only 7 mph winds. You see, wind is a very big deal when it comes to Colorguard because wind affects how we spin/toss our flags and rifles. Lucky for sabers it doesn't affect them because of how heavy they are. Anyways I'll try to keep you up to date!
Sincerely,
Tinkerbell

Bad weather, colorguard, and nostalgia oh my!
Hey everyone!
So the weather today was weird and especially depressing. Not a single big of sun anywhere except for sunrise! Causing a lot of people to be depressed in my classes. However, what definitely confused me about the weather was right above my school it looked like half a tornado! I don't know how to describe it! It obviously wasn't a tornado because the Marching Band and Colorguard were outside but it freaked me out! The clouds above it were all swirled towards it and it was almost like half a funnel of a tornado. Funny enough when I got home the storm siren went off! How about perfect timing? Anyways, the life of Tinkerbell is good right now! the LC T.O.P (tribe of pride) is getting 10x more compliments than ever before. Looks like we might actually get to Grand Nationals this year! Hmm....what else is new? Well, nothing much since the last blog. Oh! The eighth graders from all our middle school bands came to see the marching band today at practice. It gave me nostalgia of my middle school life. I don't care if that was less than a year ago, it's all gone! With the snap of my fingers I went from the silent, nose always in a book sixth grader to the socialite freshman with millions of new friends. It's amazing how fast people can change. Especially when it comes to yourself! But just remember, whether you're the silent type or the hyper type, stay true to you!

Somewhere in Time (spoiler alert!)
Ok, So why are all these random pictures up here? It's Somewhere in Time! Whom most people that read books would refer to as Bid Time Return. But anyways as I said in my first blog I am in colorguard, meaning that yes, I flip a flag. However, what makes it so incredible is that we are the Lake Central Tribe of Pride! We're known as one of the best Colorguards around! And we're not just flipping flags, we're flipping flags that are 8 feet long and flags that are 5 feet long, swords (sabers if you want to be technical) and rifles! Yes! Rifles! Sadly they're not real, but they sure hurt as much as a real one when it's tossed several feet in the air. Anyways, back to our show. Somewhere in Time is based off the movie from the 1980s staring Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeves (yes, he was superman.) The story is about a play writer named Richard Collier who goes the "Grand Hotel" in Michigan ( you can go there if you like! : D) and falls in love with a picture of this girl who was an actress from 1912 named Elise McKenna. So he manages to hypnotize himself to go back in time to meet her by taking away all the things that would remind him of the present. He gets to 1912 and meets her there at the same hotel. They fall in love, but at the brig of happiness Richard looks into his coat pocket to find a penny from 1979. So he is pulled back into the present and dies of depression and dehydration/starvation. It's a very sad story which is why it's perfect for our show! The music is beautiful! I highly suggest the movie or maybe even see our show! We're going to Lucas Oil stadium in Indianapolis in November! It's going to be amazing. Everyone loves our show so much more than ever before. Cross your fingers for us. The Tribe is trying to get to Grand Nationals!
1st blog post!!!!
Dear Readers,
Welcome to Tinkerbell's Life! My name is Calyn Tinklenberg and this is my first ever blog post. I don't know what is to become of this page because honestly, I don't know what is going to be written about. I've never actually read blogs all that much. Actually, now that I think about it, I haven't read any blog at all. Nor have I written one let alone had my own. But, There's plenty of things to tell you about in my life.
For starters, I am 14 years old and am making this blog because of a project my Intro to Journalism class is doing for the rest of the year! 3 posts every 2 weeks! Tell me good luck! Because this is going to be a crazy ride.
One of the things you might expect to see on this page is Colorguard/Winterguard. Both of which I am involved in and it is my life. Guard is what I do after school and it's what I love almost as much as what I dream to be someday. A Marine Biologist.
I LOVE sharks! And I can never get close enough to one to satisfy me. Ok, I know, there's this HUGE tank full of sharks at the Shedd Aquarium, but I want to be near one and touch one. My family thinks I'm crazy for being so obsessed with them. However, I won't babble on and on about sharks because you'll probably see more blog posts later about them.
I won't keep you here for much longer I promise! But hey, if I'm really that interesting you're welcome to stay!
Sincerly,
Tinkerbell
